Damir Doma is a Parisian fashion house established in 2006 by the Croatian-born designer Damir Doma and Swiss based venture firm Paper Rain. Damir Doma was raised surrounded by toiles in his mother’s atelier in Germany and later pursued his academic work in fashion in Munich and Berlin, where he graduated in 2004. After gaining experience in the ateliers of Antwerp designers Raf Simons and Dirk Schönberger, he relocated to Paris to merge with Paper Rain in 2007. Damir Doma launched the first menswear collection on the official schedule for the Spring Summer 2008 season, and three years later showed the first women’s collection for Autumn Winter 2010. Damir Doma’s work is balanced in proportion by a sense of uniform and an interplay between shadow and light, with designs that express essential features of proportion and a mix of rough and refined textures. Examining the modern wardrobe, Damir Doma’s collections offer multiple expressions of identity, contrasting elements of masculinity and femininity with dress codes across cultural and historical spheres.
