Nicolas Andreas Taralis

Nicolas Andreas Taralis is a Canadian born menswear and womenswear designer living and working in Paris. Taralis assisted at Parsons School of Design in New York, also having studied under Helmut Lang at The University of Applied Arts in Vienna. It was during that time Taralis won the Unit-F Prize for Contemporary fashion in Vienna, Austria. He has worked at various houses, assisting of the work of Hedi Slimane with Dior Homme, adjunct to presenting a collection for Cerruti. Taralis' past training marked his own set of pragmatic design principles and skills, which guided the launch of his own eponymous label in 2004. Nicolas Andreas Taralis is a label dignified by maintaining its production in Europe, centralizing on study and experimentation with new and distinctive fabrications. Taralis develops each piece he makes in a very fundamental and intuitive way, not affected by or influenced by trends. His worked could be described as highly detailed, undeviating, sober, even stoic – and influenced, as he says, in a very unpremeditated way, by nothing in particular.
