Handmade 19th Century Modified Pattern Double-Breasted 12-Button 4-Pocket Coat
This super limited edition RSWC02 handmade coat design is one of only 6 pieces of its kind made by hand in the entire world. Of these, just 1 piece was created for all of the United States and North America exclusively for Cruvoir in Los Angeles. The design was created specially for the SS2016 “Examen Reginae” collection.
It was made from a modified 19th century double-breasted 4-pocket coat pattern, and individually hand cut using exclusive handwoven 24% linen and 76% cotton fabric woven for Geoffrey by the Colombo family at Tessitura Colombina in Badoere di Morgano, Treviso where it takes 3 days working on one of their original 18th century looms carefully kept and maintained for generations to make enough cloth just to make a single coat.
It was then specially double hand dyed in Cavarzere studios with a special process which takes over 2 full days to get the yarns to go dark enough and hit the amazing Darkest Black patina and softness. The special piece features entirely handsewn pockets, vintage antique pure linen Venetian lace and trim details, no less than 12 luxury covered hand dyed silk buttons made by hand in our studios, and our signature hand-stitched buttonholes (each one requires 8-10 minutes to cut and sew) in luxurious pure silk Bozzolo Reale Milano Seta threads. Variations in color and color density, as well as various yarn and weave disparities, are not imperfections or irregularities, but specific characteristics of the special fabric, and hand making technique.
